Fitness and health through exercise
James’s interest in fitness and health through exercise started when he was ten years old and has been his driving passion since. During James’s final year at high school, he made up his mind to make a career in the fitness industry and so completed a Certificate 3 in gym instruction. After gaining a year of valuable gym floor experience at Oxygen, Mind and Body Fitness, James’ received his Certificate 4 in Personal Training. Focusing on self development, education and training, he thrived as a leading trainer until the end of 2005. Oxygen won gym of the year in 2005 and James was very proud to have been a part of that team.
After moving to Melbourne from Sydney to pursue his goal of Olympic selection for the Australian Tae Kwon Do team, James started with Fitline in January 2006. Always looking to improve his level of education, he was one of the first eight people in Australia to be certified as an Australian Kettlebell Instructor. During 2009, James took on a full-time role as a head instructor at the Australian Kettlebell company, programming, mentoring and lecturing around the country on the most effective use of kettlebells.
James' Passion
James is as passionate and focused as a career trainer can get. He constantly upgrades his education covering all aspects of human performance and has a genuine thirst for knowledge. As a trainer, James likes to understand his clients’ lives, fuel their hopes and help in their aspirations. His extensive experience in resistance, flexibility and martial arts training means he can tailor a program to suit most people, from absolute beginner to high-level athlete.
James sets the example, in both his aspirations and his actions, and constantly encourages his clients’ daily successes. It is his life’s' passion to share and learn with anyone who wants to make a positive change to their lives. “When I look around the gym at 6am it makes happy - I can't think of any other place I would rather be.”
